Thanks to everyone who joined us for Art On Our Trails! We had a great time at the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove and got some concrete ideas on how Creative MontCo can proceed with making this discussion a reality. For those of you who were unable to make it (or had a hard time seeing during our sunny afternoon outside), we’ve put yesterday’s two presentations online:
Join us for a special Connections Event - a tour of the SEI West Collection at
SEI Corporate Campus
Tuesday October 7, 2014 from 6-8 pm
Join us for a special tour (at 6:15 pm and 7:30 pm) of the West Collection with curator and artist Lee Stoetzel, who will share how the arts inspire and engage the SEI community. And meet members of the SEI Cares Program, which is an employee-led, company-sponsored philanthropy effort that includes grant making, volunteer opportunities, and awareness events. The program supports the local community in a meaningful way, while supporting their corporate values of social responsibility. Space is limited, so RSVP here today!

Spring Connections Event
Friday, April 4, 2014
5:00 PM – 6:30 PM at the Ardmore Music Hall
Come out and get connected to Creative MontCo and collaborate with members of the arts community at a fabulous kickoff to the 2014 Creative MontCo Connections Event series with a delicious Mediterranean menu (courtesy of Creative MontCo) and full-service cash bar. The night will feature stimulating conversation, an insightful progress report of our accomplishments to date, a chance to meet and connect with like-minded professionals.
Additionally, Ardmore Music Hall has generously offered 30 complimentary tickets to stay for the post event concert with Tom Rush. Interested in sticking around to see the Tom Rush concert? The first 30 people who register at Eventbrite by March 24th can sign up for a free ticket to the show! Be sure to arrive by 6 pm to claim your concert tickets – otherwise you will forfeit them! You must RSVP through Eventbrite to attend this Connections Event and/or concert. Limited space is available, so don’t hesitate to register.
Creative MontCo is pleased to announce an innovative competition, sponsored by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Daily News, PECO, and The Montgomery County Foundation, Inc. for area artists, nonprofits, community organizations, businesses, and inspired individuals that live, work, or serve Montgomery County to redesign a classic newspaper honor box and turn it into public art.
The competition kicks off now, and entry applications can be submitted until February 21, 2014. Applicants can enter the competition free-of-charge – the only costs beings the supplies used for the competition. Better yet, all entries are set to be on display at this year’s Norristown Arts Hill Festival, scheduled for May 3, 2014 – during which they’ll be judged by a local panel (and the crowd attending the festival) who will award prizes to the top contenders.
Interested? Submit our online application and get the guidelines here to start the process to get an honor box. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and all applicants will be notified of their status by February 28, 2014. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone’s submissions!
